Well, I guess I am a little behind again. Tyler is 10! Trevor is in preschool, and Halloween has come and gone. We are having a great year. We went to the pumpkin patch and the kids picked out pumpkins to carve and they love to play in the corn bin. For Halloween, Tyler was a ninja, Jaylen was a snowy owl, Trevor was a dragon. They got way too much candy as usual!

Mount Rushmore with the Gedges. We had a quick weekend trip to Mt Rushmore and went camping with Kelsey's brother and family, over the 4th of July Weekend. The kids had so much fun camping! and playing with their cousins. We went on a cave tour at Jewell Cave and enjoyed a break from the heat, in the beautiful black hills. Dave and Freddy's family brought a long a sweet foreign exchange student from Germany! We tried to show her the "All American" camping experience and enjoyed introducing her to s'mores and rice krispie treats.

Trevor Turns 4! Trevor had a great birthday and was so excited because I let him wear his pjs all day. We had a party with his friends and a family party. Cousin Lindsay was very excited about blowing out the birthday candles. It was a lot of fun

Jaylen Turns 8! How can this be? Jaylen got 2 new fish from Aunt Stacy!

Jaylens Baptism. Jaylen had a wonderful day, Grandma and Grandpa Gedge came to visit, as well as her cousins Jeremy and Angela. Grandpa Masek gave a talk about the Holy Ghost. It was such a special day and I am so proud of her.

Schools out for the summer!! The kids and I left Kelsey at home and went out to Lake Powell for a week. It was wonderful to spend time with my Grandparents and extended family. The kids fell in love with my aunt Darcy and had so much fun trying water sports and playing with their 2nd cousins! I learned how to surf behind a boat and wake board. It is a trip we will never forget.

I know it has been a while since my last post-that is because I am so busy!! Tyler and Jaylen started basketball again this year and had their first games on Thursday! They are so cute and fun to watch. Kelsey is coaching Tyler's team (3rd and 4th grade).

Trevor loves to get out my boxing gloves and play "punching game". Last week he had a great time getting out some extra energy!

Okay, So here are the halloween pictures. The obsession this year is "Harry Potter." Trevor was one of the dragons from the movie "How to Train Your Dragon." The kids had so much fun and the candy is never ending. The weather was so awesome! it was cool, but not cold and reached 75 degrees during the day. Kid's Triathlon!!

Well after watching me compete a couple of weeks ago in a triathlon, Tyler and Jaylen were ready to do their own. They had a kid's triathlon, sponsored by the rec center near our home. I was a little unsure about how things would go, but my kids absolutely surprised me with how great they did!

Tyler was so nervous!!! he was pacing around before it began. When is was time for his swim, he swam so fast!!! He rode his bike at lightening speed, and ran the whole way.

Jaylen had a crazy swim start wildly going sideways, but then she straightened herself out and only stooped for one breath. The lifeguard on duty said "This one could have done the long swim." Jaylen had a little trouble on the bike, because every time someone would come to pass her on the sidewalk, she went to the side, in the grass. She ran so hard!

I am so proud of my kids, and I have to say, it was the cutest thing ever! I loved watching all of the kids, they gave it all they had but you could see them running out of gas, then if you cheered for them, they went so fast and tried so hard.

School started early this year, but the kids are excited to go back. They look so cute with their uniforms. Tyler is starting 3rd grade, and Jaylen is starting 2nd!

It's not summer break unless....

School is starting later this week, and after all that has happened over the summer, I realized that we haven't done a whole lot. I asked the kids what they needed to do before school starts to finish out the summer. They said, "we haven't gone to a baseball game!" and "we need to go camping." So me being the mom I am decided to try and squeeze it all in this past week. On Wednesday we went to the Rockies vs Giants baseball game. I think they like the cotton candy and hot dogs more than actually watching baseball, but we had fun.

Then on Thursday we went up to Golden Gate Canyon State Park for a quick overnight camping trip. We got there around 5:30 and barely got the tent up before it started to rain. We finished our dinner in the car and started to read the first Harry Potter book (they are totally hooked). After a lot of effort, we managed to build a fire with wet wood just big enough to roast our marshmallows for s'mores. It was really beautiful up there, but we froze!!! The kids loved it. Trevor was squealing and laughing about everything, and a few times our campground neighbors yelled at us to be quiet. And everyone who knows Tyler knows that he doesn't know how to be quiet. So we have one last thing to do before finishing out our summer break before school starts on Thursday and that is to go the "The bucket pool."

So to sum it all up it is not summer break unless you... have a BBQ... take swim lessons...go swimming... sleep in...watch summer movies for 50 cents...go to a baseball game...go camping...eat Popsicles-lots of them...read a good book...wear your swimsuit around the house (if you are a kid and have no inhibitions)... eat lots of watermelon... and stay up too late!-I almost forgot, homemade ice cream!

Living In Caos!

Well, it has been one week since our water leak, and we are not much closer to getting things back to normal. The water restoration team is still not finished with drying everything out and spent the better part of yesterday cutting out the ceiling and wall in the kitchen. I have to say of all of the places to have construction, the kitchen has to be one of the worst. Our table has been moved into the family room, as well as the china cabinet, and toy box. They are still not sure if they will have to tear our the drywall above the washer and dryer area, but will no for sure on Monday. Our insurance adjuster has been M.I.A. at this point. Even though, I know that he is waiting for the restoration crew to leave, we have yet to call and find him in the office rather than out. I have been pretty patient for the past week, but I have to admit, it is running out fast. We are waiting.... and waiting... to find out what amount the insurance company will give us, until then we will be yelling over the loud fans and trying not to lose it.

One of the great things about summer is garage sale season. Our latest garage sale find, was a brand new cotton candy machine. Jaylen negotiated the price from $2 to $1. It was in the original box, and had never been used. The kids had fun trying it out. It only makes a very small amount, but all you need is regular sugar. The kids say it is awesome!

Well for whatever reason, our summer of bad luck continues. I really hope as my sister Sacha tells me that bad luck comes in 3's and now we are done. I came home from work on Friday, to find a house in total destruction. Someone (who wishes not to be named) clogged the toilet in the upstairs bathroom. The tank would not close and water continued to pour through it for most of the day. Since both Kelsey and I were gone for the day, we came home to a swamp!! The water leaked from upstairs down through the kitchen ceiling and soaked through all of the carpet and floor boards. Kelsey said that he had to cut holes to let the water that was pooling in the ceiling drain. Before Friday night was over our house started to smell moldy! I spent the better part of Saturday getting rid of the carpet and carpet pad so we could let the floor dry. Because this happend on Friday night, our insurance adjuster will not be coming until Monday sometime. This is just another one of those crazy things, and all I can say is I will be happy when our house is put back together. We still don't have all of the damages fixed from the hail storm that happend in May. Without meaning to sound whiney, can I just say that I feel tired.

I know it has been a while since my last post, as I am as usual, extremely busy. My friend and her two kids are visiting and we have been having a great time. We went up to the mountains, watched fireworks, and played at the park. It is so nice to have a little R&R, and in such good company. Here are some highlights this far.

On the last day of our trip to California, we got a call that a large hail storm hit our house and car. They reported tornadoes in the area and golf-baseball size hail. We are glad no one was hurt but pretty sad about the loss of our car. We paid it off a couple of months ago, and dropped the insurance down to minimum coverage. Right now we are waiting for the insurance adjuster (home) to come and give us an estimate. In the mean time, we have a lot to clean up. Our house has had one roof estimate of about $14,000 in damage. We have 2 broken windows, busted screens, the grill, patio table, chairs, landscaping, all of it destroyed. The car photos speak for themselves!!! I have never seen anything like it. Life will go on, I just hope I won't be taking Kelsey to work at 6:10 a.m for too long :)

I am officially a Personal Trainer. I got certified through the American Aeorbics and Fitness Association, and of course I love it! I am hoping to work for myself, training clients at their homes and at the Reunion Recreation Center.

School is out for the summer! We left the day after school got out for a family vacation to San Diego to visit my dad and step-mom. We went to the beach, Sea World and just had a great time. The weather was a little chilly, but we have all summer to roast in the sun.

O.K. so I know it has been a while since our last post. So I will try to make this a re-cap of the last couple of weeks.

Jaylen had a great 7th Birthday. We had an Amazing Race birthday party. I had different rooms in our house with different tasks, each room being a different country. They made paper flowers in Mexico, did a soccer challenge in Brazil, ate sweedish fish with chop stix and read their fortunes from a fortune cookie in China, and then went to the United States and completed a worksheet. The kids had a great time, it was a fun birthday party.

We had a fun year at Easter this year. On Saturday I took the kids to the Bass Pro Shop, so they could get their picture taken with the Easter Bunny. There is so much to look at and explore in that huge store. We had a lot of fun decorating eggs this year with Webkinz being a huge theme.
After the kids opened an Easter package from Grandma and Grandpa Anderson, Trevor ate his entire chocolate easter bunny, and then wanted me to open jelly beans so he could have more candy. I told him that I wouldn't because he would get a belly ache. He came back a few minutes later and said " Mom, I do want a belly ache." So I told him to hold on a sec, while I got the camera and you can see the rest. It wasn't as funny as the first sincere statement, but still gave me a laugh.

I was lucky enough this spring break to take a visit to San Diego. This time of year the weather is so crazy and unpredictable. It was so nice to have a few days away from home and breathe the nice sea air of the ocean. I can't wait to go back again in a few months with Kelsey and the kids.

Well, this past Saturday we went to our first official pinewood derby for cub scouts. Tyler designed and painted (with Dad's help) We had a great time and Tyler didn't win, but didn't lose either. Kelsey added the pennies on for extra weight. We all had a great time!

Trevor had a birthday and is 3 years old! Right now he is crazy about Thomas the tank engine. We had a great day, he stayed in his jammies and played with trains all day. Trevor is such a wonderful boy. He blends in to whatever enviorment he is in. He is always paying attention, always, and is learning so much from the people around him. He sometimes gives me this random cheezy smile, and I love it. It always makes me happy. I am so glad he is a part of our family. It is kind of sad to realize that the baby of the family is officially not a baby anymore. Hope you enjoy the pictures and videos.

Basketball!

Well, the basketball season is almost at it's end. I did manage to get a video of the kids playing b-ball, but I haven't had time to edit it yet. The kids have played really hard, despite the fact that they only won one game. The coach was so great (Kelsey), and we had a really good time.

Valentines and Cake Pops!

For Valentines day this year, we went over to aunt Stacy's house and made special cake pops. It was a lot of fun and their teachers loved them (the kids loved them too!). I made the cake balls ahead of time and then I helped the kids dip them in chocolate and add sprinkles.

On our babysitting night, their were only a few of us girls, so I decided that we needed to paint our nails. I painted 90 nails in about an hour...whew! I let the girls pick out their colors and stickers. My favorite was little Sophie who is a tiny little 1 yr old. She kept walking around and looking at her fingers and toes. So so cute!

Whats Up?

Hey guys, I know I have been kind of lazy about posting lately, so I thought I would fill you in on what has been going on around here. I have been loving life with my new steam mop and kitchen aid (making life easier), and my newly build pantry, and my new washer and dryer (I was a very good girl last year as you can see).

The kids went back to school, and Tyler got 1 award this quarter for almost making honor roll, and Jaylen got 3, including the highly coveted Principals Award. She told us that she was so happy and surprised that she almost "had happy tears."

Jaylen also said the cutest thing the other day. She asked me if she could do chores to earn money. Now we have tried this in the past and it didn't even last 1 week. I said I could probably think of a few things, so I asked her what she was going to do with her money. She said " I need to start saving for college." I was a little shocked ( but impressed of course) so I asked her if maybe she might want to save some money and spend some on a toy or something. She said: "Mom what is more important, a new toy, or college?" Jaylen had the tone in her voice that said, I thought you were smarter than that, really mom.

Trevor still refuses to wear anything but non-matching pajamas despite our $ and efforts to coerce him into wearing clothes. He loves his stuffed kitty and takes "her" with us wherever we go. I have even had to stop the car and get kitty in her buckle a few times. Other than that it is trains..trains.. and you guessed it more trains.

Kelsey started coaching basketball for Tyler and Jaylen. He is having a great time doing that and their first game is on Tuesday, so I will have pictures and more about that to come. Jaylen is sad because she is almost the shortest one on the team (1st and 2nd grade are combined). She still manages to make her fair share of baskets though, and Tyler is improving on his basketball skills.

We went to a breakfast with Santa on Saturday. The kids had a really good time. Tyler was worried about talking to Santa, he asked him what he needed to do to get back on the "Good" list. Santa and Tyler had a heart to heart , and so far Tyler has been behaving a little better. Trevor told Santa he wanted "Thomas-Percy." Jaylen said she told Santa about the breakfast, but didn't tell him what she wanted for Christmas. She doesn't seem too worried about it. I love the holidays when my kids are so young and excited about them!

Halloween was fantastic this year. The weather was fairly warm (55f) or so. We went trick or treating over at Stacy and Nathans neighborhood. They had tons and tons of kids, people decorated their houses and even a couple turned their houses into haunted houses you could walk through. Jaylen got a little spooked by a guy laying in a zipped up body bag who kept twitching. The amount of candy we ended up with was absolutely crazy!

Tyler is Baptized!

We had a wonderful day on September 26th 2009. Tyler was our first child to be baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Many of Kelsey's family members came out for the special occasion. Most of my family was able to be there also. We are so proud of Tyler for this great decision that he has made. He was baptized, and confirmed by his father Kelsey. It was a beautiful day outside, and will be remembered in our hearts forever. I asked Tyler how he felt after he was baptized and he said "I feel like I am new."

Tyler turned 8! He had a great Birthday the day before Labor Day! He loves his Lego Batman game. He is really into Legos right now and at his birthday party all his friends got him new legos. Kelsey had a lot of fun putting them together with Tyler. He is going to be getting baptised this week, and I am really proud of Tyler. He is so creative and smart. He is doing great in school, and he still has the best cheeks to kiss (even though he may not like me kissing him so much). Happy Birthday Tyler!

Tiny Town

A few weeks ago we decided to take a Saturday trip up to Tiny Town. It is a place in Morrison Colorado with replica's of houses, banks, churches etc. They have a little steam train and picnic area. It is very inexpensive and of course the train was a huge hit with Trevor.

I am very excited to say that the kids are back in school!! Just me and Trevor all day now. We got our family pictures taken a couple of weeks ago, and I have been meaning to post them for a while. I think they turned out absolutely amazing and I have to thank Jen Anderson for a fantastic job! These are just a few of my favorites.

Tri- For The Cure!

Well for those of you who don't know, I competed in a sprint triathlon this past weekend. It was a great experience and I have learned a lot about biking and swimming in the process. I feel like I did pretty good for my first time. Of course my running was the best leg, my avg mile times were 8:48. There were times that I felt like I was barely inching a long, but I just kept going. There were almost 3,000 women who competed, and the Susan G. Koman foundation raised over $100,000 for finding a cure for breast cancer. Kelsey was there to support me and take pictures. Unfortunately (or fortunately for the swim), he wasn't fast enough to get pictures of the swim, or bike portion. I think I will have to try this triathlon stuff again it was pretty cool.

Since Tyler is taking a trip to visit his grandparents, I decided Jaylen and I needed to do something special. We went to a show called Walking with Dinosaurs. It is like seeing what dinosaurs would have looked like if we were alive when they were. Jaylen had a great time. She told me, "this is the best moment of my life." We also enjoyed eating fresh hot mini doughnuts, and a girls night out together. Here is some of the video and pictures that I was able to get.

Missouri- My Home Town

This past month, my Grandpa Donald Weems passed away (we miss him already). We went to his memorial service in Missouri where he lived near my home town of Columbia. I graduated from high school there on June 1st of 1996, and had not been back since. So much changes and so much stays the same. We went past my old house where I lived for 18 years of my life, drove by my high school, and went to Rock Bridge State park where I went often in my youth. It was good to visit my roots and show my family where I came from.

There used to be a pond and forest right in front of my house, but aparently after being neglected for many years the city made other plans, but it was quite a shock.

We were planning on camping in the Lake of the Ozarks but decided my Aunt Sharon's house was just as beautiful and had better amenities.

Fireworks are legal there, unlike here. So the kids (some older than others) had a lot of fun blowing things up.

I know it has been a while since our last blog. I found my missing camera cord. I just wanted to post some pictures of the kids with their teachers from this last school year.

Tyler had Miss Cantrell. She was a softspoken and very sweet teacher. She would do this little thing to get the kid's attention Doot do do doot do and wait for the kids to finish the do doot. She was a fantastic teacher for Ty, and he learned a ton this past year.

Jaylen had Ms Petitt. She was previously a 5th grade teacher, but loved teaching kindergarden. Jaylen loved Ms Petitt and Ms Jenni her aid.

We are enjoying our summer, but the end is already in sight! School supply lists are out, and we only have a month of summer break left!

Summer Soccer

Well summer is here, and I am behind on my blogging, but in my defense, I lost the cord from my camera that downloads my pictures, and I am really busy (recovering from the stomach flu, coaching kindergarten soccer, being young women's president, training for a triathlon, oh yeah and the kids are out for summer). We have been at the soccer field 3x a week. I am glad the kids were able to play and learn some new skills. Tyler runs really fast and winds is right arm at the same time, luckily no one nearby was injurred. Jaylen, learned a tricky back kick move and surprised all the parents, including me. I think the most important part of the whole thing, was what snack and drink they got. We had fun, but I'm glad it's done. I don't know if I am cut out to be a soccer mom.

Jaylen had a great birthday. This year it was the day before easter. We had a lot of fun coloring easter eggs. She went out with her friend the night before her birthday and saw the Hannah Montanna movie. On Easter we had our extended family over to celebrate.

We had a wonderful, extended spring break in southern California. Our trip was filled with so much fun, Pirate dinner, Lego land, the beach, and of course Disneyland! The kids and I loved every minute of it. OH yeah, and did I mention our flight home was cancelled due to a blizzard? So we stayed an extra weekend, and soaked up some more warm sunshine.

Trevor loved his first beach experience (and second, and third).

Jaylen would be a total beach bum, if we lived near the beach. The water was ice cold. but that didn't stop her.

Tyler loved the real life sized lego people and rides.

The kids will never forget the Star Tours ride at Disneyland. I'm still not sure if they really thought they were going to Endor or not.

My youngest baby turned 2! We had a great day and Trevor was so excited to blow out the candles of his basketball birthday cake. He loved his new firetruck. Exactly like the old one that he set on fire in the microwave. And a huge dump truck from Grandma and Grandpa Masek. He has been so much fun. He is such a great baby. I love you Trevor.

Imagine my surprise at 7:oo a.m. this morning when my kids came in my room and told me to follow the sign. I looked and went down in the kitchen where there was a long piece of scotch tape from the ishwasher to the fridge. They then sang a song and cut the "ribbon." Tyler and Jaylen told me that they made me cupcakes!! They were so excited that they made something all by themselves and thought of something so sweet. I didn't have the heart to tell them that I didn't want that much sugar so early. After they went to school Trevor wouldn't even sit at the table next to them and kept saying YuK!!! ewww! I love my creative kids!!!

3 Hamburger buns

Some water

Spray can frosting ( at least 2 yrs old)

Sprinkles to garnish

Mix together in a large bowl, buns and water. Microwave for 30 seconds. Stir. Microwave for 10 seconds more. Mash into mini cupcake papers and put in mini muffin pan. Top with frosting and sprinkles. Enjoy!!

Tyler lost his first tooth!

Well Tyler has had a loose tooth on the bottom row. His big tooth came in behind all of his baby teeth (it looks huge!!). It is the same size as two of his baby teeth! He is so excited. We got a string and counted to three. One tug and out it came. It happens to be the very first tooth he got at 4 months old, oh I guess I am a little sentimental, anyways, my big boy is getting his big teeth.

I can ride my bike with no training wheels!

We have been so lucky to have great weather this week, and Jaylen has been determined to learn how to ride her bike without training wheels. She never cried over her crashes and has been very dedicated to trying every day. Well on the 4 th day she got it. I am so proud!!! Great job Jaylen!

We had our turn babysitting last Saturday and decided to have an indoor campout. The kids loved it. We set up a tent in our living room, read some books about camping, went on a bear hunt and even made s'moores to eat. The kids were all making their scarry bear faces.

Trevor is so cute. He put his hats and boots on the other day, just to play around in the house.

So, I was reading a book downstairs when I hear all three of my kids whispering and shuffling down the stairs. Jaylen says look at Trevor mom, he is a princess. Sure enough there he was shoes and all. He was cute and innocent. Tyler on the other hand thought he would make me laugh like I did when I saw Trevor, so he dressed himself like a girl. Hmmmm. So cute now, will he think so in a couple of years??

Kelsey and I just got back last night from our western Caribbean cruise. We had a great time and enjoyed the sun and sand and all the extra time we got to spend together. I love being treated like a queen, who doesn't? It was nice to have Kelsey there to help take care of me and keep track (and carry) all of our stuff. After a late start ( the cruise ship was delayed due to fog) we went to Cozumel first, followed by Grand Cayman, and Montego Bay Jamaica!

Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know we are excited about the new year. It was fun to get the Christmas cards from everyone. Jaylen was the first kid to be sick on Christmas, followed by Tyler and even Trevor. We found out this week that they all had Strep. Everyone seems to be doing better now. Kelsey and I are pumping the anti-biotics before we leave for our big trip. I am sure there will be plenty of warm and sunny pictures to come. Happy New Year!

This years first snow!

Well it finally happened last night. It snowed! Trevor couldn't wait to go out in it and see what it was all about. He realized quickly not to touch it without gloves and he had a great time until Tyler did what big brothers do best, threw a snowball in his face. My favorite part was watching him try to walk with boots on! He is so cute!!

Trick or Treat!

Well we had a great Halloween and tons of fun trick or treating this year. The weather was aw some! It was 75 degrees and the perfect evening for trick or treating.

Tyler wanted to run from house to house because he was so excited! He said "May the force be with you." to everyone. It was adorable.

Jaylen, loves, loves, loves dinosaurs and so when we found the dinosaur costume she was thrilled. Her favorite dinosaur is Appotosaurus. She wanted to make sure she got as much candy as Tyler this year.

Trevor learned how to say "trick or treat." Trevor was so much fun. At first he was a little worried to go to the door, but when he saw that candy was involved everything changed. We have had to hide the candy this morning, (we put a towel over it) because, if he sees it, he can think of nothing else and continues to eat piece after piece.

Last Saturday, we had a lot of fun dressing up for the church Halloween party. Darth Vader (Kelsey) was the one handing out candy at first, but too many little kids were scared, so I had to take over.

Pillow Fluff!!!

I cleaned the pillow covers to my couch this week and while I was busy, so were Jaylen and Trevor playing in all of the stuffing. Pretty much my entire living room ended up as one huge fluff ball. It made for some really happy kids...great pictures...and one gigantic mess!

Morning Assembly

Tyler's class was in charge of a morning assembly at school. They sang a song about responsibility. Parents show responsibility by caring for their children. Children show responsibility by listening to their parents. The song is "Over in the Meadow" by Olive Wadsworth. It's kind of hard to understand the words so here they are: Over in the meadow, in the sand, in the sun lived an old mother toad and her little toadie one. Wink said the mother; I wink said the one; so she winked and she blinked in the sand and in the sun. Over in the meadow, where the stream runs blue, lived and old mother fish and her little fishes two. Swim said the mother; we swim said the two so they swam and they leaped where the stream runs blue. Over in the meadow in a hole in a tree lived an old mother bluebird and her little birdies three. Sing said the mother; we sing said the three; so they sang and were glad in the hole in the tree. Over in the meadow in the reeds on the shore, lived a mother muskreat and her little ratties four. Dive said the mother; we dive said the four; so they dived and they burrowed in the reeds by the shore. Tyler got to hold up one of the two fish, and so he had a really special part. Sorry it is so far away and you can't see. I need to upgrade my camera.

Frog Blog!

Friday night we found a little frog in the back yard. The kids had a lot of fun discovering this unique creature. Trevor, I think was interested but a little unsure about this strange hoppy thing. Most of the drama occurred after the "filming" when Brody our little dog got out and tried to catch it. Jaylen screamed and cried thinking that her little froggy friend went to heaven, but as it turns out we were able to save it after all, and all is well.

Tyler Turns 7!

How can it be that my little 1st born son is now a big 7 year old? I remember well the days leading up to Tylers birth, and how excited I was to have a baby. We had a rocky delivery, and some rocky times since but through it all, the love I have for my Tyler has brought me so much happiness and joy. Tyler warmed my heart when at less than 1 day old he cried...I slowly got up to get him from his cubbie... and a second after I held him in my arms he stopped crying and snuggled up to me as he fell back to sleep. I had an amazing and overwhelming feeling...motherhood. I knew I would never be the same again.

This year Tyler is obsessed with Star Wars. He has a playstation 2 Lego Star Wars game and he plays it as much as possible. He seriously breaths... eats...and sleeps (yes we hear him talking in his sleep about it) STAR WARS!!!

Tyler is doing great in 1st grade, and is reading everyday.

Tyler loved the power of special priveledges, on his big day. He reminded me more than once that because it was his birthday he didn't have to clean, he got to say all of the prayers, he got to play whatever he wanted!! and he even refused to get dressed and wore his PJ's almost all day!
We had a family BBQ for his birthday and he chose a white cake with white frosting. I was ready for the big song and realized I lost the candles. I couldn't find them anywhere. I called everyone I knew in the neighborhood and ended up using grilling matches for the candles. I love you Tyler, more than I can even say.

1st day of school 2008!

Well, I blinked back the tears and swallowed the lump in my throat as I took Tyler and Jaylen to school this morning. It is Jaylens first day of school and the first day of the rest of her life. Both the kids were really excited to go( I'm sure that will change in a couple of years)So I went in to the school to take them to their class rooms. Tyler wasn't sure he remembered what room number, and Jaylen, well its her first day of kindergarten. Jaylen walked straight up to her teacher and said "sorry I'm late." We actually weren't late for once.

We started a new back-to-school tradition with a homemade cinnamon roll breakfast. Tyler and Jaylen have been really excited about that. And I got their new clothes ironed and ready. I put some gel in Tylers hair and he looked in the mirror and said "what a disaster!" I laughed. I thought he was looking quite handsome.

My little babies are growing up and its going too fast. I wish I could push pause sometimes or at least slow motion, and enjoy life a little more. I will miss Jaylen, but I know that she will do great and is more than ready to learn and explore, and create. I know her effect on others will be as wonderful as it is on me.

Trevor walked around and hung out with me all morning. He keeps saying "Mom mee" and I did feel a little better, and then I thought four years from now I'll really be bawling my eyes out.

Mt Rushmore

Well we had a quick family vacation this past weekend, and took a trip to South Dakota to see Mt Rushmore and the black hills. It was a lot of fun. We enjoyed camping and visiting Kelsey's Parents who met us there. One of our best finds was Broken Boot Mine. We went on a tour of the old gold mine, and saw first hand who crazy those old miners were. The kids really enjoyed it and then we had them pan for gold (which they got to keep). We then took a detour to Sturgis, making our way to Rapid City where we went to Bear Country. This was Jaylens favorite part. We got to see the Bears roaming around, as well as other wildlife, with the best part being "Babyland." Babyland was were they had all of the baby animals. We saw the bear cubs playing around and they were so cute. The next day we went to Mt Rushmore and enjoyed the new updated they have done. It was really nice. We saw a movie on the making of Mt Rushmore (2x) and went on the "Presidential Trail" which goes around the foot of Mt Rushmore. All in all we had a great trip

We had a great July 4th this year. We went up in the mountains to have a picnic lunch. The kids loved playing under a huge pine tree, and wading in the creek. After we drove back and had quick naps, Tyler, Jaylen and I worked on their special 4th of July hats. We went to watch the fireworks, and had a great time. It was perfect Colorado evening and watching the excitement in the kid's eyes was half the fun. Trevor pointed to every big firecracker with wide eyes of delight.

Dizzy Dizzy Baby!

I was listening to the radio the other day and Trevor started to spin around and dance. He has also tried to dance to my workout dance dvd. I tried later to get him spinning on tape. He makes a funny face by looking up with his eyes. He entertains all of us. We love him so much!

Jaylen asked me today if there were bathrooms in heaven. I told her I didn't know, but probably. She said thats good because if people peed in the clouds, than it would rain pee on the world.

I know it has been a long time since I got the kid's pictures taken. Last Thursday, we went to our weekly summer movie camp ( a cartoon is shown once a week for fifty cents) and afterwards we went to get their pictures taken. Trevor was so very tired having missed his nap and so he didn't get any by himself. We will get his done next week. They turned out beautiful, of course. I won't get the actual prints until next week but I did get the email that allows me to download the pictures. (There is a website you can go to if you would like to order some, email me and I will get it for you.) Don't worry grandmas and grandpas are getting some prints soon.

We are enjoying our summer. I got a bike trailer at a garage sale and we took a little bike ride on Monday night. Trevor absolutely loved it! Jaylen, and Trevor were the passengers and Kelsey, Tyler and I were all riding bikes. Trevor would just squeal and laugh and Jaylen was a little nervous, she kept asking me if I was going too fast.

Special Delivery

The excitement for this week was getting packages from Grandma and Grandpa Anderson. Jaylen had fun sitting in a tiny box. Trevor posed for the camera in his new bath towel. We are enjoying our summer break with a more laid back schedule. Tyler and Jaylen started swimming lessons last week and are both doing well. We are just waiting for the weather to warm up enough to go to the outdoor pool so they can practice their new skills. We have had the most rainy, cool, start to summer, that I can remember and all I can say is Bring On The Heat!!!

I had a great time visiting my sister in Salt Lake City a couple of weeks ago, and you know the saying "When the cat is away the mice will play?" Well Kelsey bought a Playstation 2 and Guitar Hero III. The kids have a Lego Starwars game and at ages 5 and 6, they are way better at it than I am. I have to say, letting them play with it, is a great motivator for getting them to do their chores.

Kindergarten Graduation!

Yes, Tyler is all done with school for the year. He had a great kindergarten and is looking forward to being a 1st grader now. Miss Carter is an amazing teacher and we were so lucky for Tyler to have her this year. The charter school Tyler goes to is amazing, we are so happy that Jaylen gets to go there in the fall as well.

Sorry the video is far away I used my regular camera. Tyler is the one with the blue and white sweater vest on. It is hard to understand the words to the song but it was so cute. It talks about them making it to first grade, how they can now write their names and tie their shoes.

We are so proud of Tyler and all of his acomplishments this year. Tyler recieved the Principals Award which is only awarded to one boy and one girl! He also recieved an award for academic excellence. Great job Tyler!

I hope everyone is having a great Mothers Day tomorrow. The kids and I took some pictures today that they could make some e-cards with. I also made a cherry chocolate cheesecake that my mom, sister and I all enjoyed for an early mothers day celebration. For those of you who don't know yet, Trevor has been walking for about 3 weeks, and he's gotten pretty good at it. He also has discovered his belly button, and likes to check and make sure it hasn't gone anywhere. I hope you enjoy watching the little video.

1st Haircut

Trevor had his first haircut today. I can't believe how much older it makes him look. My baby is growing up. I also wanted to include a little picture of Brody riding in the baby jogger. I have been getting ready to run the Boulder Boulder race in May and I have done most of my running on the treadmill. The weather was so nice today that I decided to take Trevor in the jogger and Brody could come too. Poor Brody got really pooped out and so I put him in the bottom of the jogger and he rode the rest of the way. Who knows maybe next time he gets tired he'll hop in there all by himself.

Well Jaylens Puppy birthday party was a success. We had fun. Each kid brought a stuffed puppy from home and it got a party hat and balloon, along with each of the kids. We played puppy related games and the kids took home their own bag of "puppy chow."

Happy Birthday to Jaylen! 5 years old! Wow time flies. What is happening to my tiny little angel? Jaylen is so excited to be going to kindergarten next fall. What can I say about Jaylen? I remember the day she was born and she wrapped her tiny little hand around my finger. She didn't cry when she was born but looked around with her curious little eyes and kept sticking out her tongue. She is a burst of energy and a ray of sunshine! She is very compassionate and kind. She is always thinking of what she can do to make others happy. She is my little helper at home always making my bed or unloading the dishes to surprise me. Once she is wrapped around your finger (which takes about five second when she smiles with her sparkling blue eyes, and talks with her small sweet voice) You will be under her spell forever. My heart grows bigger with love for her everyday. My baby girl. I love you.

Well last week was spring break for the kids and we had a lot of fun. We went to the Denver Zoo on Tuesday and the Childrens Museum on Thursday. I was surprised that Trevor really enjoyed looking at the animals at the zoo. There were some baby giraffs that were cute and of course we saw the Lions up close and personal. I found out later that there are twin baby monkeys that we will have to go an check out. Jaylen is looking forward to her birthday in a couple of weeks, and Tyler is doing an excellent job learning how to read. It is so satisfying to see Tyler get so excited when he reads a word by himself.

We had a birthday party for Trevor last Saturday, but unfortunatly he had an ear infection and had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics! He had a red itchy rash, poor little guy. We are happy now and went to an Easter egg hunt today. Easter is so early this year its kind of weird. We are excited for Spring Break (and spring weather), March 21st-30th. Jaylen learned how to do a cartwheel today, and Tyler is learning to read very well. Day light savings time was last weekend, and I love it the kids are actually sleeping in until 6:30 or 7:00 a.m.

It's hard to believe that Trevor turns 1 today! As I think back to last year I remember feeling so relieved and happy to be having my last baby. Everything about the labor and delivery of Trevor was as perfect as he was. Eventhough he isn't talking yet there is a lot that we have learned about him over this past year. His brother and sister adore him and he makes them laugh by doing the simplest things like saying Baaah! He loves to have a good time and thinks that Jaylens room is the party room. He can hear the music playing and dances outside her door until she lets him in. He love cars. He loves to watch balls roll and actually plays a form of catch. Trevor has an amazing smile. One of the things that he has done as a baby is carry things around in his mouth like a puppy. He loves to snuggle with Mommy. He loves to wrestle with Daddy. We love him so much and are so glad to have him in our family.

We have had a pretty uneventful couple of weeks unless you count the 24hr flu bug we all caught. I forgot to Thank Grandma and Grandpa Gedge (aka Lion King) for sending Ratatouille. The kids love it and Tyler is always saying "Anyone can cook!". I have a few pictures of Trevor. I was busy making cookies for a candle party and had to put him up on the counter for a minute. I turned around and he had found the spatula and cookie bowl.
The kids are really excited about Valentines Day coming up and the visit of Grandma and Grandpa Anderson (aka Hawaii). I hope everyone is having a good February!

Tylers Awards Assembly

Well this is what we have been up to lately:

Tyler got another great report card and we were invited to Landmark Academy(his school) to the awards ceremony, where he got an award for Academic Excellence and one for perfect attendance. We are very proud of Tyler and excited about all of his new knowledge. Tyler also started Basketball on Wednesday nights. On the first day he won a game and the whole group put their hands in and cheered Tyler!! after basketball he was so excited he told Dad "I made the Team!".

Jaylen has also started Gymnastics on Saturday mornings. She and her friend Kessa are very excited and seem to be having a great time. (pictures to come).

Trevor is very busy looking for trouble. He managed to get a hold of one of the kid's markers and bite the tip off. He has lots of fun, playing in the toilet... the dishwasher... getting in to the fridge, he even hopped in the bath tub one day with Tyler. He makes life very busy, but he is keeping us all entertained.

I know, I know it has been a while since my last update. We had a great Christmas and New Years. Santa was very good to Tyler, Jaylen, and Trevor. Tyler's favorite part of Christmas this year was "That I got a toy dinosaur". Jaylen's was " Getting new toys and presents". Tyler was so excited for Santa to come, because he was on the "super-good list", that he woke up at 3 am!!! Mommy told him that Santa had not come yet and it was the middle of the night. Tyler told Mommy that the middle of the night was Midnight!! not 3:00 a.m. After waking again at 3:30 a.m and then 4:00 a.m. Jaylen and Trevor were awake too! So we stumbled out of bed (by we I mean the kids, Daddy, and Auntie Sacha) and went down to discover what Santa had brought. We had a white Christmas! It started snowing late Christmas Eve and didn't stop until late Christmas night. I learned a new way to cook a Turkey on Christmas eve (Frozen!!) and it was a big hit. Boulder Colorado in October

Two weekends ago we finally went up to Boulder. Tyler had been asking me for a couple of weeks and the weather was finally good. We all had a great time sitting by the river and enjoying the beautiful scenery. Of course this week we are all getting excited about Halloween! Thank you for the Halloween package Sacha, and the the Halloween package from grandma, and grandpa with the books and Jammies. The kids also enjoyed the cards from Amy and Blaine. Hey Everyone! I am kind of slow in the high tech world, but I saw this as the perfect solution to keep you posted and updated with the latest photos of our cuties.

Tyler is 6! He is going to kindergarten at Landmark Academy and absolutely loves it. He is doing great, and got a perfect 1st report card. He is looking forward to being a pirate for Halloween.

Jaylen is 41/2 already! she is going to preschool Mon-Thurs and according to Jaylen, "My teachers want to take me home with them because I'm so cute". She is still a shinning ray of sunshine, and has really started to enjoy singing.

Trevor is already 7 months old! He isn't crawling yet (thankgoodness) but is very busy. He loves to be held, but that doesn't mean he stops moving. He now has 4 teeth, and fluffy blond hair. His smile will brighten anyones day.
